Tanjil Bren
From the highway to the highest peak,
There’s a hidden byway to the place I seek.
Follow the river; walk with me again
To the silent valley; to the heart of Tanjil Bren,
Skirting the ridges, soft across the moss,
Natural the bridges, forest giants lost.
Deep in the hollow, with the fairy wren,
Through the sheltered valley, to the heart of Tanjil Bren.
Mist of the morning drifts on the breeze
Whispers of whiskers shift through the trees.
Waterfall rainbows draw the sun again
To the shadowed valley in the heart of Tanjil Bren.
Here where the tree ferns fan their fronds so wide,
Offering the creatures places they can hide:
Silence enfolds me. Childhood lives again
In the scented valley, at the heart of Tanjil Bren.
