We asked a lot of people to support Words in Winter Trentham this year, and a lot of people did - a great effort from a great town! We have covered our costs, and seeded next year's programme. If if the final reckoning shows  we have more than we expected, we will donate to a relevant and worthy cause in the town - and we’ll let you know via the Trentham Trumpet. 
 

We would ike to express our thanks to everyone who helped in all the many ways, major and minor, and to express thanks to the following:

 

Major donors for 2017

1. East Trentham Fellowship - were our first donors for 2017 and kicked off this year's fundraising with a great $500.00 start.

2. The Trentham Trumpet - our champion again this year, with just over $2000.00

3. Chaplin’s - an amazing, and generous $1000.00 from their 'A Banquet of Consequence' fundraising dinner.

4. Writers Victoria & The Grace Marion Wilson Trust - $750.00 towards getting Dr. Rashida Murphy over here from W.A for the author talk and to judge the Ellen Kemp competitions for adults..

• Harkin’s Property who sponsored the can't-miss-them new orange road signs.

• The Trentham Collective, who donated Contemporary Poetry Prize and their beautiful space for the Contemporary Poetry event.

• RedBeard Bakery - who donated the 50 Words Microfiction prize.

• Wyld Thyme - who hosted Writing in Cafes every Friday morning for 12 weeks.

• Lots of donated prizes to The Last Word at The Pig & Whistle who themselves donated the space, the hot food and the bonhomie:

    • The Trentham and Districts Historical Society - did quite a lot this year, as befits a theme of Origins; Bush Poetry, the play 'Dr Wisewould Meets Mr Wolffe' (written by Peta Sherlock), and the Streets of Trentham event.

    • Not exactly a business, but deserves a guernsey - the Trentham Library, who hosted the kids party and an author talk.
