Trentham is rich with creative, writerly types and we are pleased to be able to offer two writing workshops as part of Trentham’s Words In Winter programme this year. This year's facilitators are all experienced writers and offer a great experience at a great price. These are general workshops, open to everybody who is interested in writing, no matter your level experience (or lack of it). Is the urge to write, bubbling away inside you – just waiting to burst out?
Everybody has a story to tell, and this is your chance to put yours on paper.
Unleash your creativity, or simply reflect on life experiences, at this friendly writing workshop.
The Workshop will be run by former journalist and Macedon Ranges author of 18 books, Dee White.
No writing experience is necessary! Just come along (with pen & paper, laptop, tablet or whatever you like to use), have fun – explore the writer in you!
Who is it for? Anyone aged between 15 and 115 who is interested in writing but hasn't started, or has started but doesn't know what to do next.

About Dee
Dee White is a former journalist and advertising copywriter, award winning short story writer and author of 18 fiction and non-fiction titles for children and young adults.
She has been awarded a Victorian Writer's Centre Mentorship for her YA novel Letters to Leonardo, a May Gibbs Fellowship for her YA novel The Tangled Web, A SCBWI Nevada Mentorship for her YA verse novel Hating Ric, first prize in the CYA published author category for her YA novel, Saving Sarah and runner up in the Daffodil Day Arts Awards Short Story category for Aperture.
She is a qualified writing teacher and mentor, passionate about encouraging new writers. Her blogs http://writingclassesforkids.com and http://deescribewriting.wordpress.com are full of career and writing tips.
Dee runs national and international writing workshops for adults and children at all stages in their writing.
Her two new titles, K9 Heroes and Reena's Rainbow are due for publication in 2017

Your Creative Writing Guide:
Myron is the author of 6 books and was a founding editor of the literary journal Going Down Swinging. He is a publisher with the small publishing house Hit and Miss. He convenes a spoken word event at the Chamber Art and Coffee House in Woodend. He has conducted writing workshops all over the country since 1999. He enjoys helping people practice and improve on their writing skills.
Creative Writing Session on Silence
Myron will help you write poetry, prose, memoir or song lyrics on the topic of Silence/Breaking the Silence.
Who is it for? - New, experienced and emerging writers are all welcome.

Competition Writing Workshop
Always harboured a desire to write but don't quite know where to start? Come to Dr B's workshop and hone your writing skills. Then, if you're feeling confident, test them out by entering our writing competition! Who knows, you might be starting up a whole new career!
In the workshop participants will learn good writing practices which ensure that writing will be crisp and engage people.
